Community Grants

Grant Application window opens June 1st, 2024.

Inspired Access Foundation is excited to support community-based projects that increase accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities and chronic medical conditions. Nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government entities may submit an application. Please read the following information before applying.

Background:

Inspired Access Foundation, a nonprofit Organization, was founded in 2022 with the goal of funding community projects that will make buildings and parks across Ohio more accessible to individuals who live with a disability or chronic medical condition.

Applications will be considered by the Board and will be processed quarterly.

Projects and equipment requested for personal use will not be considered.

Consideration will be given to proposals addressing needs in the following areas:

  • Permanent installation of adaptive equipment, such as universal changing tables, hoists, communication boards, etc.

  • Adaptive equipment that can be loaned on-site to support participation in an activity in the community. For example, a water wheelchair to support water play at a local pool or community center, or recreation equipment the public can use at public parks, community centers, and sports leagues, etc.

  • Equipment that will help remove physical barriers to places, such as wheelchair ramps, powered door-assist buttons, etc.

  • Any project that will remove barriers, tangible or intangible, allowing people with disabilities to participate fully in their community.

Instructions:

  • Review the following questions and prepare your answers. When ready, begin the online application, filling in your answers. When finished, click Submit.

  • If requesting funds for the permanent installation of equipment, take photos of the location you propose to install the equipment. Include measurements of the equipment and measurements of the space where it will be installed. You will be asked to upload these photos and measurements with your application. Please also prepare links to any products you will be requesting funding for.

  • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Application:

  • You will receive an email confirmation when your application has been successfully submitted.

  • An organization may only submit one application for a maximum of $5,000.

  • If there are additional questions about your application, our organization will contact you.

  • Once a decision has been made, you will be contacted.

  • If your request is approved, the approval will be good for one year. Time is of the essence and an organized timeline will be looked upon favorably in the grant evaluation process.

  • You will be required to provide a report within 30 days after the project has been completed, including photos of the finished product. We would appreciate photos of individuals in your community using the equipment provided or benefitting from the project.
